2011 SPRING: Hair Trends to Try Now
With the holidays closing in (seriously ladies, I spent yesterday battling the hordes at the downtown Pre-holiday Sample Sales in the Fashion District where the ladies were fierce) I decided to turn my thoughts to Spring. Spring Hair trends, that is.
Spring Runways always run the gamut when it comes to make-up and hair, but ultimately there are a few looks, that when seen over the course of several shows, tend to stand out. 2011 Spring Collections were no different with a multitude of ponytails, braids and elaborate bouffant-ish do’s… and of course the lovely (and ultimately wearable) four looks featured right here at PoshBeauty.com.
EXTREME SIDE PART:
I’ve always been a fan of the extreme side part as it really allows for a ladies finest asset (her beautiful face) to shine against an ultimately feminine frame. It’s a dramatic departure from the stark middle part of the past seasons and is flattering on just about every face shape. Paired with a low pony tail or chignon… it’s a perfect (and easy to do) holiday party compliment.
LOW MESSY PONY TAILS, BRAIDS AND BUNS:
In fashion, embellishments abound – it seems that, in this time of economic turmoil, designers are encouraging us to stay positive by not holding back on the sparkle, fringe and glamour on their collections.
Hair on Spring runways was no different – the one thing they did have in common: messy. Messy low side and back braids, messy up-dos and the gorgeous messy low braid we feature here. Heck… you can practically roll out of bed, pull back the lower portion of your locks, make a few specific adjustments… and off you go!
ULTRA SHINY LACQUERED LOOK:
If a messy pony is a touch to tousled for you… it’s direct opposite also made a daring showing on Spring 2011 runways.
The high-shine, lacquered look is another of the best Spring 2011 trends to his the runways and red carpets. Another compliment to faces everywhere, this look requires a severely pulled-back do glossed into place and impeccably combed to appear almost wet. Paired with a ponytail, ballet-ish high bun or low chignon.
MESSY NATURAL WAVES AND CURLS:

And if all that just seems like too much work, nothing says sexy like the continuation of the messy natural bed-head-ish waves and curls that have continued to dominate magazines and hipster’s everywhere. Something about this look says young, vibrant and carefree – and isn’t that just how we’d all like to spend our days?
I like to think of hair as just another accessory – easy to change up with the ability to distinctly change your look. And staying just one step ahead of the trend – I thought I might rock one (or all) of these styles for a few holiday parties too. Care to join me?
