A BEVY OF BRIDAL BOUNTY: Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012
Tis the season, and the fashion world is all a twitter with bridal wear (Anyone heard any talk of a royal wedding involving a Kate and a William?). And like spring seasons of the past, the New York fashion community just unveiled it’s blushing bridal fashions at Bridal Week 2012.
One collection in particular has been racking up the rave reviews, not just for it’s coveted classic and clean designs, but also for the fact that the collection truly covers all the bridal bases. Oscar de la Renta unveiled designs meant to suit each and every brides varying sensibilities.
One of the most adventurous looks (and a PoshBeauty.com fave) was the rock-n-roll styling of satin pants (hurrah!) paired with a flowing fur vest – white of course! Several short, constructed minis also sashayed down the runway as a modern alternative to the traditional long formal look, and the use of trend-worthy fringe floating down the catwalk was utterly breath-taking.
The famed fashion house also eschewed the blushing bride and presented a sheer, peek-a-boo nighty-ish look that somehow looked more appropriate for the nuptial bed than the ever-so-public walk down the aisle. But, as this collection to poignantly points out, to each their own! A brides gotta do what a brides gotta do.
