Japanese 3D Nail Art

Today I looked down at my over-worked hands and thought: Good god woman. Get a manicure. And while I will probably not opt for the wild ’3D’ French manicures that are so hot in Japan right now (pictured above) – I just might try my hand at the nail art that’s accompanying two of the hottest fashion collaborations this season. Namely Lady Gaga’s pairing with Barney’s for her “Gaga’s Workshop” and Versace X H&M collection.

Lady Gaga Press On Nail Art from "Gaga's Workshop" @ Barney's

For those of you who don’t remember – we told you a bit about Gaga’s venture into creating a Barney’s wonderland way back in August – the skinny on “Gaga’s Workshop” is a modern take on a traditional ‘Santa’s Workshop,’ housed in Barney’s NYC flagship store, and featuring everything from “Disco Stick” lollipops to G-A-G-A topiary, all with the philanthropic benefit of 25% of each Gaga’s Workshop purchase benefitting her Born This Way foundation. The press-on nail art on our radar was inspired by Gaga’s flame-headed look in the “Bad Romance” video with a price tag worthy of a big city styled video shoot ($225.) Those are some pricey press-ons.

Versace X H&M Manicure

Of course what would the latest nail trend be if not a little something-something in homage to Versace X H&M’s collaboration that is causing literal riots both here and abroad? At least that’s what London-based nail art gurus Wah Nails were thinking when they created their Versace X H&M-inspired manicures. It’s not hard to imagine the immaculately styled Donatella sporting these, is it?
