A Very Gaga Christmas

Apparently, in a fit of staying of-the-moment Barney’s has eschewed traditional Christmas cheer for a holiday mistress with more star power, the mega store announced today that their ‘face’ of their holiday season will be that of Lady Gaga. A very modern pop-art Lady Gaga according to the teaser art released.

Gaga will be reinterpreting an installation of Santa’s workshop on Madison Avenue Barney’s men’s floor with the help of Assume Vivid Astro Focus artists Eli Sudbrack and Christopher Hamaide Pierson, as well as her stylist Nicola Formichetti and Muglerhas been awarded the privilege of reinterpreting Santa’s workshop to install in a whole floor (the men’s, naturally) of Barneys on Madison Avenue. Artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus and Gaga’s stylist (and Mugler creative director) Nicola Formichetti. Look for this… um… winter wonderland… to appear mid-November along with Gaga workshop-themed windows.

Of course their will be cross-marketing. Formichetti also helped with a Gaga and Barneys limited-edition small gift item collection (available exclusively at Barneys stores and online) with 25 % of the sales going to a charity of Gaga’s choice. Will she cloth Santa in a meat dress? The imagination simply runs wild – and the season of joy begins!
