Giambattista Valli for Macy's

We sure do love a good collaborative effort… and apparently so does Macy’s. Fresh off their collab with the Kaiser himself (Karl Lagerfeld) Macy’s recently announced a designer pairing with haute couture darling Giambattista Valli, and guess what? It’s here!

Available online and in stores, the collection includes a whole slew of super-femme cocktail dresses (and one particularly striking pair of leopard print dress pants) that would tempt even his front-row runway fixture celebrity fans like Leighton Meester, Diane Kruger and Olivia Palermo.

Launching last night in NYC with models Jessica Stam, Chanel Iman and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Valli expounded on both his first ever haute couture collection and the lower-end Macy’s collab:

“I think it was the right moment to do haute couture and do this line. It’s collector, easy pieces,” the designer told us. Though the collections are on opposite ends of the spectrum in price and accessibility, Valli said he approached them in the same way. “It’s an identical approach. Everything has to be very special and very unique, even if you do the most affordable thing it has to be special and unique. You must have the essence of your style, your idea, your dream that you want to share with people.”

Well, we’re certainly happy Giambattista was in a sharing mood! Aren’t you?
