Balmain Launches New Diffusion Line!

Notoriously pricey (A t-shirt for $3000?!) French line Balmain has unleashed two photos of its new diffusion line aptly named after the brands iconic creator Pierre Balmain. The line is a collaboration with Ittiere SpA (who also licenses the likes of Just Cavalli) and was created by an “independent design team” as opposed to Balmain’s lead designer Olivier Rousteing. However, the word on the street (and via Balmain’s chairman and CEO Alain Hivelin) is that Pierre Balmain will be just as fashion forward as Balmain’s own collections.

“We see Pierre Balmain as a new and unique brand whose distinctive look and product respond to the needs and desires of today‚Äôs marketplace,” Hivelin said via press release.

Fashion watchers will certainly have their eyes peeled for Pierre Balmain spring 2012 launch which will include tees starting at $175, jeans at $363 and jackets at $508. A much more affordable alternative to the Balmain’s own couture collections. Keep watch for short, online video clips in lieu of an ad campaign!
