Banana Republic Reveals Spring Mad Men Collection
Whew! Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner is crazy… crazy for collaboration that is!
Earlier this week we revealed the big beauty news that the 60′s inspired AMC series would be joining forces with makeup maven Estee Lauder on a season 5 cosmetics-collection – but apparently that wasn’t enough ad-men news for the week. You see, it’s not enough to just apply a perfect-Betty pout, Banana Republic once again wants you to sport the vintage look with their latest Spring collection, designed by Emmy Award-winning Mad Men Costume Designer Janie Bryant. Sneak peaks of the collection have been popping up online this morning as well as the cold, hard facts—think 40 pieces of clothing and accessories for men (Donald Draper-esque suits) and women (Joan Holloway-esque dresses)—slated to hit the shelves on March 1st.
Banana Republic creative director Simon Kneen had this to say about the brands latest collaboration with the show. “Spring delivers a whole new palette and gave us an excuse to draw from different scenes and wardrobe from the show as inspiration. Janie’s perspective was invaluable in helping us create a collection that is both chic and modern, while remaining true to the aesthetic of the 1960s era.”
So, while you’ve inevitably already set your DVR for the Mad Men premiere on Sunday, March 25 at 9 p.m., be sure to also set your shopping calender for the launch of this suitably springy collection.
