Benjamin Millepied is the Face of YSL’s L’Homme Libre Fragrance
Many may not not know who Benjamin Milepied by name but you have probably heard of him. This New York City Ballet principal dancer that is most notably famous for his role in Black Swan which subsequently landed him the role of being the “baby’s daddy” of A list actress Natalie Portman’s unborn child, has managed to take his 15 minutes of fame and spin an endoresment deal out of it. Now I am not personally sure of how big Benjamin is in the ballet world so I cannot truly say how he got the gig, but I do think that it is still admirable for YSL to use a ballet dancer where usually only the biggest stars get endorsement deals with fragrances for major labels. So kudos to him for either way.
Apparently he feels the same way, “It’s something I never really thought of. The positive thing about it, I think, is I’m a dancer and it’s not usually the sort of thing… It’s always actors or models.” says Millepied when asked at a dinner held by designer Stefano Pilati to celebrate its newest spokesman.
A number of notable appearances were made as well, including Arizona Muse, Liya Kebede, Chanel Iman, Lindsey, Harley Viera Newton, Leigh Lezark, Victoria and Vanessa Traina, Chiara Clemente and Patrick Demarchelier. Unfortunately, Portman was a little too pregnant it seems to show up for support.
Millepied did say that he could get some notes from his girlfriend as the face of Miss Dior Cherie. “I learned a little bit or got a taste of it as I watch her through her commercial and her campaign,” he said.
When asked about whether or not he would be ready to be a father he responded, “Yes, yes, yes,” he said. “As prepared as I could be, but looking forward to it very much.”
