‘Tis the season — and while it’s certainly festive, it’s not exactly kind to the time-management portion of your day. So while you’re loading up on Thanksgiving ingredients and Christmas stocking stuffers this week, we’d like to offer up some hair-spiration to help get you through the busy season with as little muss and fuss as possible. ENTER: the ponytail. A simple dress-it-up, dress-it-down answer to having zero time to spend on your tresses. From Kendall Jenner’s sleek and elegant middle parted low pony, to Rihanna’s wild and high up-do, ponytails can hide a myriad of hair faults with an elastic and few bobby pins — which is likely all you’ll have time for during the holiday season. Pulled straight and sleek or tossed like a glorious hair salad, here are some inspired pony looks to emulate when your time is running short but the need for glamour is not.read more
Kendall Jenner’s star continued to rise over the weekend as the young beauty staked her claim on the title, the new face of Estée Lauder via a post on Instagram.
Jenner is poised to be featured in print and television ads for Lauder, as well as digital content which she will produce for her own social media channels. In a statement from the brand, Jenner was called ”the ultimate Instagirl” (courtesy her staggering 15 million Instagram followers) — a move we can only assume implies that the beauty label intends to use Jenner’s social media reach to draw in a younger generation of women.
Paired with the youngest Kardashian’s 13-page spread in the most recent issue of Vogue (Dec.), Jenner is making serious headway on her desire to be taken seriously by the modeling industry. Congratulation Kendall!read more

It’s been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, so it stands to reason that a good set of eyebrows can be a most flattering frame. So what of those days when your over-the-eye fringe isn’t quite adding up? We’ve got a few tips and tricks to help offset those less than perfect eyebrow days in 3… 2… 1…
The most common brow emergency is one you’ve likely inflicted on yourself — over plucking. Let’s face it, sometimes the tweezing gets a little out of hand. So for goodness sake put down the tweezers and give your follicles a breaks. There are over the counter eyebrow growth products that can help, but giving your eyebrows a chance to grow back to their original glory is a great way to start fresh.
And with all that over plucking (and often times directly after a professional eyebrow wax) the skin around your brows ends up looking red, swollen and irritated. What to do? Swipe on a little antiseptic like witch hazel and then dab on some Neosporin — this one-two punch should calm down any irritation and get you back to looking like a normal human being.
Most of us rely on a good eyebrow pencil to color in any sparse areas, but what to do when your pencil has gone kaput? Most of us can get by with a neutral brown shadow to fill in any less than luscious areas on the fly, so be sure to have one on hand for those times when your pencil is MIA.
And on the opposite end of things, a quick remedy for the crime of overfilling your eyebrows lies just inside your makeup brush case — a spoolie brush (you know that thing that looks like a mascara wand, sans the mascara.) Just make sure your spoolie brush is clean and then brush through your brows until the color blends in, then wipe the excess color fro the edges with a finger or a Q-tip.
Let’s kick off the weekend with a little fashion eye-candy that just so happened to be the Guggenheim International Gala Pre-Party red carpet that graced the city of New York this week with it’s oh-so-stylish attendees. Hosted by none other than fashion house Dior, the event was chock full of glorious looks from which to cull your weekend’s perfect party look — from the flipped-up hair and flipped-out skirted 50′s style of actress Camilla Belle, to the stunning red booties gracing the feet of Marion Cotillard (muse to Dior creative director Raf Simmons), to the rainbow variety of actual models in attendance (Joan Smalls, Constance Joblanski, Karlie Kloss.) They say emulation is the greatest form of flattery… we think it may be the most stylish too. Have a great weekend!read more

We’ve got two word to cover both your lack of a Halloween costume because you waited too darned long to get one and Sunday’s extra hour to sleep in: pajama set. Let me explain.
Matching pajama sets have been the luxe sets loungewear of choice since Stella McCartney sent them careening down the runway in 2012. Celebs like Rihanna, Sophia Coppola and Alexa Chung have also rocked a few red-carpet wearing their p.j. sets and a slick set of heels, and don’t forget Coco Chanel’s obsession with them – FYI. So here’s the idea: Slide into your most stylish matching pajama set. Grab a stuffed bear, tousle your sexiest bedhead hair, and slip on a chic pair of stiletto’s (or jewel-toned smoking slippers). Et voila! You’re a very stylish sleepwalker. (I know, low on the creative scale. But high on style… so that should even things out.) And look who’s ready for Sunday’s extra hour of hibernation? You are. Win-Win. Here are some of our most coveted matching pajama sets for fall.read more
The single best way to stay on-point during fashion’s fickle seasonal transitions are panning out to be our favorite finds this season: accessories.
From the latest “it” bag to a killer pair of boots, fall 2014 is chock full of must-have accessories to spice up your look without revamping your entire wardrobe — keeping you, enviably, just ahead of the trend. Here are a few must have accessories for this season and beyond:
The best “now” bags are sleek and structured. Put your slouchy bohos on hold for fall and instead invest in something boxy with clean lines. For those adverse to the classic look, try choosing a bag in an eye popping color (or color blocked) — you’ll be surprised to see your structured handbag become the envy of even your most urban-dwelling girlfriend.
And while scarves aren’t a newbie on our must-have accessory list, the classic silk neck scarf is one we haven’t seen in a while. Equal parts ladylike and of-the-moment chic, a little silk scarf tied at the neck is a great way to add a pop of color for those inclined to fall’s black/white/grey palette.
A mod block heeled boot or heel is a great way to pick-up on what the latest fashion week (and September issue covers) was laying down — the 60′s are simply sexy.
With the holidays almost upon us, it’s hard to deny the appeal of shimmer, sparkle and shine. Heels, jewelry, hair accessories and handbags are all adorned with sequins, crystals — anything that dazzles is fair game. So why not start early and add a little pre-holiday sparkle to your girl’s night out?
From Beyoncé’s baby bangs to “it” girl Alexa Chung and supermodel Behati Prinsloo’s eye-skimming fringe, a simple (or not so simple) sheering of the hair is the hottest accessory for fall. And sometimes, the trickiest.
While Beyoncé’s short, short (and short-lived) baby bangs left some fashion folks scratching their heads, the perfect bangs are longer with layers on the ends that skim the tops of the cheekbones to call attention to the eyes and accentuate the area. With the right cut, that awkward “growing out my bangs” look gets decidedly less awkward as it’s easy to simply sweep them out of the way.
Fall’s messy-sexy bangs almost have me convinced to chop some fringe myself. Almost.
Joining the ranks of nearly every “it” girl in the past 5 years, pop songstress Iggy Azalea has scored her first major ad campaign — fast fashion titan Forever 21‘s holiday campaign. The “Fancy” singer looks… well… fancy alongside her beau, basketball player Nick Young, vamping for the camera in what her stylist, James Knox, her own special way.
“Iggy operates in what’s comfortable for her, she doesn’t want to feel too forced or like she’s trying,” Azalea’s stylist James Knox told us back in June. “It’s an effortless style sensibility she has. She’s just being Iggy at all times, not really turning up for the cameras.”read more
