Bye Bye Michael Kors, Welcome Zac Posen to Project Runway
Due to scheduling conflicts, we’ll be missing the genuine mentorship designer Michael Kors spew season after season on Project Runway. After ten great seasons, he’ll be exiting the runway and making room for mentee designer Zac Posen.
“This was an amazing opportunity,” Posen told the San Francisco Chronicle. “I hope I’m here to give a new perspective to the designers.”
Kors will make a cameo during the season finale as a guest judge. Other guests making an appearance this season include Joan Rivers, Bette Midler and Project Runway past winner Christian Siriano.
This year we’ll be getting a different dose of the reality show. Contestants will be collaborating as teams instead of individuals.
“You can imagine the designers’ reactions when we first told them,” Klum, an executive producer, said, “but it resulted in some really interesting conflicts and partnerships. And that is how designers work in the real world – they do have to work on teams and manage teams – you get to understand their personalities more.”
We’re looking forward to an exciting show. Hopefully the designers sit well with the news of the changes.
