Chanel Commits A Fashion Fail: Safety Recall
It’s not like a brand recalling a product is necessarily big news (Toyota, Fisher Price) why I’ve even see alerts for recalling an item at my local Trader Joes, but Chanel? Really?
Yup. Chanel fans everywhere are shedding a little tear. The coveted high-end luxury label has had to issued a recall of 120 scarves and 34 garments – priced between $430 and $3,650 – due to the items failing to meet federal flammability standards.
That’s right… your well-heeled Chanel blouse and or scarf could potentially pose a fire threat. The dresses, skirts, tops and accessories included in this take-back were sold at Chanel boutiques, Neiman Marcus and elsewhere between March and April 2010.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has thoughtfully instructed that Chanel customers stop the offending Chanel items (*sob) and contact Chanel customer service.
