Chanel Nail Lacquer in 'Graphite'

Chanel has long been a master at creating nail lacquers that dominate the market, causing a frenzied rush at cosmetic counters and this season is no different. The labels resident makeup maestro, Peter Philips has taken the metallic couture trend to a new level with his ‘Graphite’ nail polish and placed it on the manicures of Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week runway models – and now it can be yours too.

Similar to last season’s release ‘Black Pearl’ (yes, another frenzy ensued), ‘Graphite’ is lighter and brighter with a stunning iridescent quality, appearing green-gold and pewter in equal measure. The new varnish is completely opaque, so achieving the desired foil effect isn’t an issue.

And lest you think ‘Graphite’ is restricted to mani-pedi’s alone, keep in mind that, if Paris Fashion Week is a barometer, metallics are going to be a big, big, big cosmetic trend for eyes too. (If you’re thinking gunmetal grays and silvery eye-shadows – you’re headed in the right direction!)
