Collaboration Candy: Prabal Gurung + J.Crew
There is truly nothing I like more than a sneak peak! Especially when it’s one that offers up first looks at the number of chic designer collaborations. That being said… here is an explosive one for ya!
J. Crew, as sponsor of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2011, has collaborated on capsule collections with the prize-winners, namely Billy Reid, Eddie Borgo and… Prabal Gurung. Guess which collection launches online and in select stores tomorrow?
Prabal Gurung has created a 6-piece line consisting of white demin and crisp cotton, embellished with such modern flair as oversized ‘exploding’ bows and the occasional asymmetrical lapel.
Of course, when we say denim, we mean it in the most summer-friendly of ways, it’s ivory colored and resembles more of a humidity friendly poplin and adorns both jacket and pants.
Also featured are two dresses with the aforementioned ‘exploding’ bow – title aside, they’re both phenoms in the day to evening catagory. Which plays well with some of J.Crews more elegant wears.
Priced at a considerably lower point than Prabal’s own line, this collaboration ranges from $198 to $450 (the white blouse above bursting with rose-ish ruffles!) And that… was today’s collaboration candy!
