Cosmetics + Cat: Choupette’s new gig
If there’s one thing we love it’s fashion. If there are two things we love it’s felines. Put ‘em together and you have today’s mews… um… news. Designer Karl Lagerfeld’s darling cat Choupette has signed on to star in Shu Uemura’s holiday makeup campaign.
This isn’t the first time Lagerfeld has collaborated with the Japanese beauty brand, having created a collection for them in 2012 and famously using their cosmetics to paint his illustrations, so it’s not a stretch that he would loan out his white Siamese kitties good looks (and social media fan base — Choupette has Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as a book deal.) for Shu Uemera.
Mademoiselle Choupette Lagerfeld will be renamed “Shupette” for the campaign, with the Kaiser himself shooting the campaign images. He also sketched a portrait of his spoiled feline in honor of her new gig. Stay tuned for the fall unveiling of the campaign and the brands holiday makeup collection which will include furry false lashes and “claw” polishes. Me-ow!
