Country Music and Couture: Nashville Fashion Week Makes A Splash
The absolute capital of country music is aspiring to something altogether new! As in fashion.
While you’re likely to think of ten-gallon cowboy hats and a bevy of leather boots when you think of Nashville, that might be soon to change. Nashville Fashion Week kicks of tomorrow and has lured in a slew of major fashion players and exciting up-and-coming local designers to unleash their 2011 runway designs on a country catwalk. The scene will be housed at some of the city’s well-loved historic landmarks including the Pinnacle at Symphony Place, the downtown Arcade (built in 1902), the Crystal Fountain Church, and the 1925 War Memorial auditorium. But the anticipation lies in the list: Akiko by Akiko Cook, Aman Stovall, Ben Sherman, Betsey Johnson, Christian Siriano, Cooper by Courtney Warren, Coquette by Brooke Shipley, Gado Gado by Belinda Kazanci, Gustavo Cadile, Jamie and the Jones, Julianna Bass, Katherine Kidd, Kevork Kiledjian, Leona Collection by Lauren Leonard, Loretta Jane by Kelli Cooper, Melissa Tabor, Norma Clare by Anna Redmon, Olia Zavozina, Robert Graham, Steven OO by Steven Oo, Sylvia Heisel, T. Rains, Union of Angels by Cynthia Bapst, Valentine Valentine by Amanda Valentine, White Rabbit by Shea Steele. Haven’t heard of some of this couture company? Not to worry. You will.
