Roksanda Ilincic Make-up at Fashion Week 2011

Classic red lips have played a big part in make-up trends the last season or two – but there is always room for a sexy new variation – No?  Make way for a tres Helmet Newton look, circa. the Disco era. Think dark, glossed burgundy lips, sculpted blushed cheeks and smoldering eyes – (not to mention the shiny, flowing locks).

Designer Roksanda Ilincic utilized the mad, mad skills of makeup artist Lucia Pica to recreate the photographers devotion to severe glamour. “Sophisticated and groomed, but not too pretty,” Pica elaborated.

Dragging MAC “Blacktrack” Fluidline Eyeliner Gel along both the top and bottom lash lines and extending it out toward the models’ temples, Pica created an elongated shape to the eye. She coated the eye lids with complexion complementary MAC Eyeshadow in Cork, and used varying shades of foundation and highlights with MAC’s “Shell” Cream Colour to sculpt the killer cheekbones.

And for those luscious lips? Pica hand-blended an assortment of glosses with MAC Lipstick in Film Noir for a high-shine, deep berry finish—(I’d like to suggest MAC recreate this color and gloss in a single tube, please.)
