Gucci’s enters the cosmetics game

Confirming last year’s rumor, Gucci has officially announced its arrival on the cosmetics scene with news of a September launch of the brand’s first beauty line.

While not the first haute house to enter the beauty realm, Gucci is most definitely an inspiring contender, partnering with the company behind its popular fragrances, P&G Prestige, to produce a collection of eye, lip, nail and ”luxurious brushes and preparation products for skin” in collaboration with Gucci ready-to-wear show make-up artist and P&G beauty divisions creative design director Pat McGrath.

Gucci has also tapping Grace Kelly’s granddaughter and the brand’s long standing muse, Charlotte Casiraghi to front the cosmetic line’s first campaign. Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci has this to say of the continued partnership, ”Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman.” Casiraghi returned the compliment with, “I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these lasts four years, and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature product.” We have to admit, we’re excited too.
