Nothing says fashion like a scandal. This week we’ve got a little something for everyone: missing dresses, copycats, and drag queens. So much to share, so little time. Where do we begin?
Miranda Kerr’s Nightmare: Something borrowed, something blue, something missing? Supermodel Miranda Kerr has a bone to pick with American Airlines, and she’s not doing it privately. The newlywed took to Facebook and claimed the airline lost her luggage, which just so happened to contain her vintage wedding dress. Ra-roh. What’s worse is the luggage has been MIA since July! That’s enough time to pillage, plunder, and purchase on e-bay. Outlook not good.
Givenchy ≠ BCBG: They say copying is the highest form of flattery. “They” are not in the fashion industry. Givenchy is taking BCBGeneration to the cleaners for knocking off their Nightingale handbag that sells for $2, 175. The point of contention: BCBG’s Rembrandt bag that’s suspiciously similar. Does Givenchy have a case?
What a Drag: Marc Jacobs, or shall we say Mrs. Jacobs, has arrived. Shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Katie Grand, the designer is gracing the cover of Industrie magazine donning a getup that’s part pirate, part Upper East Side walk of shame. One thing we know for certain: This is one designer that’s never a drag.
