Is the Bieber Boy Wonder Losing His Charm?

When I first saw super pop sensation, Justin Bieber, on the cover of Vanity Fair, I thought maybe I was the only one who found it a little weird to see a teenage boy on the cover of an adult magazine. I always assumed that the magazine had a much older and more sophisticated audience. I didn’t pay too much mind after that, and just chalked it up to the fact that maybe he was a bigger star, and had more commercial appeal than I originally gave him credit for. Looks like I was right all along.

According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations’ Rapid Report and Conde Nast, this magazine is on track to be in the bottom 3 lowest selling issues in their history! The Bieber cover has sold 246,000 copies when the average numbers are more around 342,000 sales per issue. The other two lowest issues were surprisingly covered by Will Smith riding a horse for the promotion of Wild Wild West, which sold 202,701 copies, and a Harrison Ford cover which sold 243,000 copies.

This wasn’t the only flop that Bieber has had in the print world though- apparently the October 2010 Teen Vogue cover, which seems a lot more fitting for the young star, only sold 121,054 issues. That’s roughly 12 percent below Teen Vogue’s 2010 average, according to sources.
