Kanye West Scarves!!
Kanye West has proven himself to be an all around artist. First it was music, then it expanded to fashion. We saw him almost single handedly change the face of hip-hop’s fashion, from giant baggy clothes to more fitted and upscale attire. He then designed sneakers and started other random trends like the little heart pendant with eyes. But Kanye West isn’t stopping the brand expansion there, now he’s moving onto scarf designing. According to Nowness.com, West is helping to create a new line of scarves inspired by the artwork on his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (which you must own if you don’t already!!!). West commissioned M/M’s Mathias Augustyniak and Michael Amzalag to create illustrative patterns that compliment the album cover images, which consist of five fairly graphic and sometimes extremely sexual paintings by American artist George Condo. The scarves will feature baroque-style letters, and figures like a severed head wearing a crown and a naked sphinx straddling a likeness of West. The scarves will be sold in a limited-edition of 250 (50 of each of five designs) this Spring at Colette and mmparis.com. Who knows… maybe Hermes wil call him soon to do a line of scarves for them. Now if that happens it would be pretty huge!
