Kanye West Will Debut Line During Paris Fashion Week
The rumour mill has been buzzing for a while now about Hip-Hop star turned fashion guru, Kanye West, and his up and coming and still untitled fashion line. He has reportedly been working on it for a while now, and for the past couple of seasons everyone has been anticipating its debut at fashion week. To recap the previous updates involving the line, Louise Goldin, a Central St. Martin’s trained knitwear designer who’d been hooked up with West through CSM professor Louise Wilson is supposed to help Kanye create this women’s collection, while Giuseppe Zanotti was handling the shoes. Last week according to Wayne Sterling from The Imagist, West started casting for the show. On August 31, Sterling tweeted:
“That Kanye West debut collection… now casting! Get into it!”
So we all assumed that he would be showing for NYFW. As of today (the beginning of Fashion Week), West’s name still was not on the schedule of designers showing, and the most recent tweeted update from Sterling says:
“Hiss hiss. Which ultra-power stylist is now playing in Kayne’s camp for his blue chip Paris showing. And it IS a Paris showing kids!”
So the it looks like the final news is that Kanye’s line will debut during Paris Fashion Week and he will have a star stylist to boot (Australian stylist, Christine Centenera was said to be styling before this recent update). It isn’t surprising that Kanye decided to debut in Paris seeing as though he spends a decent amount of time there studying the fashion.
