Kate Moss Previews Video of Final Top Shop Collection.
Set the reminders on your iPhones, ladies, because November 2 is just around the corner. What – you ask – happens on November 2? Let me tell you. Iconic model, designer and international fashion darling, Ms. Kate Moss is set to unveil her final full collection for retail giant Top Shop.
Starting their collaboration in 2007, Ms. Moss and Top Shop seemingly put the idea of a affordable diffusion lines on the map, with Target, H&M and other affordable retail giants following suit to great success. But all good things must end, and amid the flurry of long-term rumors (and denials) that Ms. Moss was been ousted by Topshop boss Philip Green’s daughter Chloe, who has since officially joined the business, it seems the end date is… um… now.
“When we started the project we didn’t have an end in mind but I’m really proud of all 14 collections,” says Moss. “I’ve learned a lot about the design and development process; experiences that I’d only ever seen informally through being a model.”
While Top Shop hasn’t unveiled the line in it’s entirety (and isn’t likely too until November 2) it has posted a video featuring model’s Cara Delevingne, Genevieve Garner, and Jessica Horton twirling and preening in the latest designs with a wistful Kate looking on.
Think rock-n-roll sequined dresses and hotpants, boho floral day dresses and a particularly smart tweed cape with a faux fur collar. All in all a much softer collection than those of the past, but a perfectly graceful departure from the wildly successful Kate-Topshop pairing.
