Lanvin Fall 2011 Paris Fashion Week opened under a willow tree

After all the to-do over last year’s affordable collaboration between Lanvin and H&M, it may have slipped your mind that Alber Elbaz’ label is an ultra luxurious couture staple on the runways and in the most envied closets around the world.

In his most recent showing at last week’s Paris Fashion Week, Elbaz displayed a collection thoroughly entrenched in monochromatic colors, classic silhouettes and elegantly opulent detailing and embellishments, including heightened shoulders, glittering adornments and over-sized ruffles.

Alber’s obvious admiration and emphasis on the female form also made a strong showing with pencil skirts and snug knit dresses, as well as several designs in elegantly risqué black lace.

But lets talk about color – beautiful arrays of pinks, golds and reds adorning cocoon-like jackets, cape coats, and stunningly ruffled cocktail dresses.

All in all, an elegant showing for a master craftsman – one of our favorites from this season!
