Macy’s Won’t Miss A Single Second Of Black Friday

While most of us are transitioning from thoughts of trick-or-treat to thoughts of turkey, Macy’s is taking it one step further with thoughts of Christmas. Christmas shopping that is. Macy’s announced today that they would be opening all 800+ of it’s stores at the stroke of midnight on Thanksgiving evening, meaning Black Friday will begin just as you’re waking up from your Turkey-induced nap.

And while I stay as far away from anything that even remotely resembles shopping on that fateful day, Macy’s executive vice president of marketing, Martine Reardon said the midnight openings are a response to customers’ requests. “People want to shop through the night,” Reardon said.

Target was the first to announce it’s 2011 Black Friday hours (also opening at midnight) and with Macy’s following suit we’re sure to be bombarded with other hours and discount announcements from other retailers – just in time to help us consumers map out our bargain hunting strategies. After all, there’s only 54 more days until Christmas. On your marks… get set… shop!
