Miu Miu Unleashes It’s Ephemera Inspired Fall 2011 RTW Collection
Not to gush… but Miu Miu has unleashed it’s 2011 ready-to-wear Fall Collection and it’s… well… it’s just swell. Full of ephemera-inspired dresses, lady-like pants, sequin embellished shoes, velvet clutch handbags… even 1940′s-ish tortoiseshell sunglasses… all paying a heavy nod to the vintage vogue of past.
Using a heavy dose of bird-prints, autumn florals on drop waist-ish designs and heavy-shouldered embellishments, Miu Miu’s runway was rife with wardrobe appropriate for office chic or evening dinner party wear.
Big bow detailing gave skirts (and a few dresses) a certain femininity without seeming to girlish or garish, while boyish dress pants with elastic-closed ankles (paired with oversized ball caps) went Hepburn-esque with it’s ladies dressed as men look.
Miu Miu’s ephemera-homage didn’t stop with the fashions either. No, the label carried this inspiration through to a stunning shoe and clutch handbags collection – some which could have walked directly out of a high fashion 40′s film.
It seems what’s old is new again this pre-holiday Friday. Hope you enjoyed the eye candy. Now let the weekend revelry begin!!!
