Padma Lakshmi Covers Indian Vogue
Not just a pretty face, Padma is also a cookbook author, actress and model. She has modeled for top designers such as Emanuel Ungaro, Ralph Lauren and Alberta Feretti as well has appeared in ad campaigns for Roberto Cavalli.
She’s dipped into the fashion world herself with designing her own line of jewelry inspired by the 70′s available at Bergdorf Goodman. The line is heavily inspired by both her Indian heritage and her love of cooking.
“I was remembering the last time New York went through a big recession, which was when I grew up in the 70s,” Padma told Forbes Magazine in an interview. “My mom was a working mom, and I was channeling her. I think for all of us, our mothers are our first fashion icons. So I was feeling very 70s. I wanted to do something with a cooler palette. I used a lot of sapphires and turquoise.”
Kudos to Padma for her interview in Vogue and building a lifestyle empire. She is definitely one to watch!
