Pantone Announces Spring 2015 Palette
Just in time to jump Fashion Week ’14′s F/W gun, Pantone has unleashed what they’re sure will be the hottest hues for Spring ’15. Pantone’s noted Color Institute has made it official by announcing the 10 key shades that will make up the next season’s style palette — think soft, cool and subtle.
“Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow a minimalistic theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated,” said Pantone’s executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, whose team used designer sketches and collections to assemble their list called Spring 2014: En Plein Air. “Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.”
There are girlish hues like the soft pink-toned Strawberry Ice and pretty nude Toasted Almond, ocean inspired shades like Aquamarine, Glacier Gray and Lucite Green, and a softly sunny yellow called Custard that has us pining for next year.
