It’s been many, many weeks since designers lackadaisically rolled out their resort wear collections, but honestly… no one was as fashionably late as Prada, who has finally unveiled it’s summer-friendly designs.
Miuccia Prada’s resort 2012 relied heavily on the retro-vibe reminiscent of mid-century suburbia. With a flurry of florals, pastels and conservative khaki – the palette ranges from conservative to girlish to summery while still maintaining a cohesively constructed flow.
Even the brights in this collection of skirts, dresses, 50-ish cropped pants and outerwear stay the course, being toned down by either a contrasting neutral or softening knit texture.
Even in it’s multiple peek-a-boo black lace efforts, Prada manages to maintain that conservative suburban chic appeal. All in all, Prada’s 2012 resort collection is prim and proper with enough kitsch to appeal to the city set, the jet set and the tres chicest of the suburban set. And don’t get me started on the bags and shoes – glorious!
