Rachel Roy Plays Dirty
Let’s get dirty.
No sillies, we’re not talking about that! We’re talking about the makeup at Rachel Roy’s latest NYC Fall Presentation – where the illustrious Ms. Roy’s inspiration was… um… unconventional. It was dirt of the most wearable kind. Yes, dirt.
Essie manicurist Elle, explains: “The Rachel Roy look was nature-inspired, by pine and soil.” Which led to a combo of Essie’s ‘Licorice’ nail polish and their ‘Going Incognito’ (a dark emerald green.) The result was a perfectly flattering dark hue – perfect for a close cropped manicure.
On the eyes, Ms. Roy, went to the big dogs. Namely makeup guru, Bobbi Brown who revealed her Fall/holiday palette of Caviar and Oyster to “soil” the model’s eyes (I’m sorry for the pun… it’s just too easy.) “It’s the color of dirt,” Brown explained, “It’s actually a really great color eye shade with green-gold flecks.”
Topped off with a pink hint of color on the cheeks, a natural lip and sleek, straight hair – Roy’s Fall 2012 look is as chic as it is filthy (sorry… again. Too easy.) Let us know what you think.
