It’s clear that Tommy Hilfiger has quite the knack for designing duds, but it’s with great joy we find that his wife Dee Ocleppo is equally as talented. And thank goodness, because she has teamed up with HSN to design a line of handbags that brings our little handbag addiction to full attention.

DEESIGNS by Dee Ocleppo was launched (at the Hilfiger’s glamourous NYC Plaza apartment) this week, showcasing an array of purses – each one featuring switchable and reversible covers (*SQUEEE!) Ocleppo used this as explaination as to why she paired with HSN instead of doing a brand, “HSN works perfectly because I can actually demonstrate on TV what the bag is and explain it.”

Ocleppo found inspiration, as many designers do, by delving into the past… her own past. Namely, the wooden-handled, buttoned reversible Pappagallo/Bermuda bag she carried when she was twelve. Don’t expect the same sugary sweetness of the PB bag though, DEESIGNS are way more grown up. Think metal studs in lieu of buttons, super cool handles (loving the clear plastic, leopard-printed plastic chain!) and modern, edgy fabrics like: woven textiles and raffia (Spring and Summer collections), and the up-n-coming luxury wools and faux furs (Fall and Winter.) Welcome to the fashion world, Dee! Glad you made it!
