On a whim I decided to tie a thin black ribbon around my neck the other night to compliment the deep red dress I was wearing and I’m realizing now that I’m not alone. Chokers are back and making a bold appearance on a number of the style set. From Emma Watson to Rihanna, chokers are turning up the form of wispy and open-ended gold bands, leather “belts” with metal clasps, layered in dazzling crystal, and simple black ribbons — all neatly wrapped around the neck. The look makes an equally bold statement to the many layered and length necklaces that are also trending for spring — with a decidedly more minimalistic effect. Here’s some choker-inspiration for you to draw from for the weekend!
The idea that white should only be worn in the spring/summer is an archaic one that we’ve long since put behind us. So why is it that today’s must-have is one so many style-seekers have a hard time embracing. White jeans in winter is an easy enough 2015 do — pair with chunky knits, ethereal blouses, chambray button-ups and/or long winter coats — and with such chic early converters as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung and a virtual gaggle of street style stars and bloggers offering up their own how-to’s on the look, there is plenty of online inspiration. Your white jeans needn’t linger any longer in the back of your wardrobe waiting for spring to rear it’s head, the time is now.read more
Of all the fabrics, denim has a shelf life that lasts. Season after season, year after year. But that doesn’t mean your jean cut and color aren’t on the same trend timeline as everything else. Spring may see the end of your dark, skinny jeans to make way for a hippier selection of hemlines, flares and casually faded hues and 80′s inspired high-waistlines. As always, we’re offering off evidence, so if our blog on Alexa Chung’s latest collaboration with AG Jeans isn’t enough, here are some current runways looks, inspired by the past and reinvented for 2015.
There are some “it” girls who stick to the consuming side of fashion, but we can’t think of single muse more perfectly poised (and impossibly anticipated) to tackle the creating side than the design darling, Alexa Chung. In her scant 31 years she’s managed to play model, muse, author, and tv personality, making way for what’s likely to be a seamless transition to collaborative partner with AG Jeans, and while this isn’t her first foray into the capsule collection game, it just might be our favorite.
The chic trend revivalist and street-scene icon brings her retro-inspired personal style to a 20-piece capsule collection that has us pining for this year’s music festival season — think denim dresses, skirts, shorts and jeans with a decidedly late 60′s, early 70′s aesthetic. Straight from the Brit beauty’s mouth, The Telegraph reports that “[t]he collection is inherently the missing pieces of my dream denim wardrobe.” The lookbook features Chung herself, all decked out what are sure to be some of your favorite go-to pieces for spring and beyond. AG has confirmed that the collection, which will officially launch on January 15, will be priced between $70 and $300. Here’s a sneak peek at some of our favorite looks from the pairing.
From sequins to beading and back again, ’tis the season for your cocktail dress to be decked out in the finest “tinsel” the season has to offer. For me however, one oh-so-glamorous adornment tops the rest: feathers. There’s just something to the way feathers flutter that says elegance and edge all in one soft little holiday package. Whether your dress is trimmed with a row of thin wispy strands or tricked out entirely, feathers are… well… fabulous. So in the spirit of the holiday, we’ve assembled some of our favorite feathered frocks from 20 to a.) prove our point, and b.) provide just enough push to inspire you to pull our your finest feathered dresses to accompany you to all those holiday soirées on this season’s dance card.read more

We’ve got two word to cover both your lack of a Halloween costume because you waited too darned long to get one and Sunday’s extra hour to sleep in: pajama set. Let me explain.
Matching pajama sets have been the luxe sets loungewear of choice since Stella McCartney sent them careening down the runway in 2012. Celebs like Rihanna, Sophia Coppola and Alexa Chung have also rocked a few red-carpet wearing their p.j. sets and a slick set of heels, and don’t forget Coco Chanel’s obsession with them – FYI. So here’s the idea: Slide into your most stylish matching pajama set. Grab a stuffed bear, tousle your sexiest bedhead hair, and slip on a chic pair of stiletto’s (or jewel-toned smoking slippers). Et voila! You’re a very stylish sleepwalker. (I know, low on the creative scale. But high on style… so that should even things out.) And look who’s ready for Sunday’s extra hour of hibernation? You are. Win-Win. Here are some of our most coveted matching pajama sets for fall.read more
From Beyoncé’s baby bangs to “it” girl Alexa Chung and supermodel Behati Prinsloo’s eye-skimming fringe, a simple (or not so simple) sheering of the hair is the hottest accessory for fall. And sometimes, the trickiest.
While Beyoncé’s short, short (and short-lived) baby bangs left some fashion folks scratching their heads, the perfect bangs are longer with layers on the ends that skim the tops of the cheekbones to call attention to the eyes and accentuate the area. With the right cut, that awkward “growing out my bangs” look gets decidedly less awkward as it’s easy to simply sweep them out of the way.
Fall’s messy-sexy bangs almost have me convinced to chop some fringe myself. Almost.
Fall 2014′s mani-pedi’s are undeniably about texture. From biker chic leather to jaw-dropping metallics, nail polishes best brands are upping the ante beyond a beautiful hue and are now required to offer up a slew of finish options too. ENTER: Nails Inc., who has once again paired with their favorite “it” girl, Alexa Chung to release a collection of fabric-inspired finishes that go beyond last year’s leather polish, to include silk, lace, camo, cashmere, and sequin finishes for you to play with.
With the success of their leather nail polish — it’s been a beauty blogger-favorite since Chung was spotted wearing it in 2013 — it makes sense to cater to the softer (and even outdoorsy) set. And with a variety of colors, Nails Inc. manages to maintain its foothold as the one of the most “of the moment” (maybe a slight step ahead) polish brands by giving a gal plenty of mani-pedi options for mixing and matching with fall’s quick-change wardrobe. It seems, this season, that Nails Inc. has truly thought of everything.read more
Judging from the slew of mod-inspired looks gracing September’s coveted covers and the doe-eyed liner that darted down Gucci’s F/W14 runways, the 60′s are in full swing for fall. From hippie to trippy prints, micro-mini hemlines and caped dresses and sweaters (yes, capes!), this retrolicious look catching on. And it’s not just for editorials and catwalks. Recent pap-snaps provide evidence that the celeb set is embracing the trend as well. Style muses like Olivia Palermo, Emma Stone and Alexa Chung have all been spotted out wearing 60′s-inspired fashions, hair and makeup, giving gals plenty of inspiration for incorporating this of-the-moment look into our own wardrobes.
