Let’s kick off the weekend with a little fashion eye-candy that just so happened to be the Guggenheim International Gala Pre-Party red carpet that graced the city of New York this week with it’s oh-so-stylish attendees. Hosted by none other than fashion house Dior, the event was chock full of glorious looks from which to cull your weekend’s perfect party look — from the flipped-up hair and flipped-out skirted 50′s style of actress Camilla Belle, to the stunning red booties gracing the feet of Marion Cotillard (muse to Dior creative director Raf Simmons), to the rainbow variety of actual models in attendance (Joan Smalls, Constance Joblanski, Karlie Kloss.) They say emulation is the greatest form of flattery… we think it may be the most stylish too. Have a great weekend!read more

Here’s a few more pictures from the campaign to inspire your transition to fall’s jacket-required weather.read more
The fashion world is in a frenzy with this week’s kick off NY Fashion Week — which means one thing for those of us not sitting front row in the Big Apple: trend watch. Celebrities and industry folk sit side-by-side, breath baited, watching as the haute couture reveal of the style savvy makes its way down the runway. From office to evening, Fall has always been a dramatic fashion affair, and this years top trends are no different.
Last Thursday we prowled our way through the leopard trend that’s topping nearly everyone’s to-do list, so today we’ll let you in on another ‘L’ words that you’ll L-O-V-E to L-O-V-E for Fall 2013: Leather.
Always a must-have topper in the Fall/Winter jacket department, this season’s leather is making it’s way on to shorts, skirts and particularly ladylike dresses by the likes of Dior, Michael Kors, and Altuzarra. Think the unlikeliest of strapless waist cinchers and fitted pencil style frocks all done up in motorcycle black leather and you’ll get the surprisingly feminine idea. Zip tops, leggings, and the typical boots, handbags, pumps, and belts and are also getting the leather treatment. So prepare to rev your engines for that most rock-n-roll of textiles this season — it’s going to be an ultra-chic ride.read more
With metallics and magnetic polishes running rampant across the manicures of the most-fashionable fingers this spring 2013, we like to think that nail brands are taking their cues from the bold and chunky accessories that stormed the scene last year. And while it’s still popping up on spring jewelry (neon necklaces) and handbags (reptile print clutches), this season’s hot nail trend is a horse of a different hue: bold, punchy color.
Our case-in-point is Dior’s Cosmetic’s Cruise Collection, a fresh and fruity lineup of three hues that is miles away from the pastels that so often dominate the nail world. The Cruise Collection includes a mango-hued apricot aptly called ‘Mango,’ a tomato red called ‘Pateque,’ and a fun lime green called ‘Lime.’ Each bottle will set you back $23, but we must warn you, now is not the time to dilly-dally on getting your own — Dior is also celebrating it’s 50th anniversary in the nail lacquer game, so these bold beauties will more than likely fly off the shelves.read more
Creative director Raf Simons hasn’t been shy about making-over Dior, and his latest spring 2013 collection of ads is no different. Veering from the troubled John Galliano’s take on the brand, Simons’ takes an arty turn with pix that are already being likened to surrealism.
Think something similar to Simons’ first September runway and you’ll get the idea — white washed walls and flowers — then add odd sizing, clouds, odd lamp fixtures and a slew of supermodels (Karlie Kloss, Kate Moss, and Gisele Bündchen) sporting Dior’s to-die-for latest collection.
We can’t wait to see what Simons has in store for us next!
They say diamonds are forever… but it seems gold is merely temporary.
Luxe fashion brand Dior has released something slightly unexpected in the form of a limited-edition set of 24-carat gold temporary tattoos, meant to replace those actual Dior cuffs, chokers, earrings, and bracelets that you simply can’t afford (pardon our speculation.) Not that the nine piece “skin jewelry” set isn’t still pricey — at $120 a pop, it’s still a bit of an investment for something that’s… er… temporary. Dior costume jewelry designer Camille Miceli designed the sets that appear to be styled in the trendy links and swirls of fall 2012, as well as logos (natch) and something that looks like a doll charm, all made from 24-carat gold micro-particles. So if temporary is your thing, you can snap you’re up now at Dior.com.read more
From Hunger Games to haute couture, Jennifer Lawrence seems to be enjoying her pick of plum roles, critical acclaim and magazine covers — all the perks associated with being a modern-day ingenue.
*Cue the fashion contracts.
After the staggering success of designer Raf Simons’ debut collection for Dior, the high-end fashion house has announced that Lawrence has been chosen as the new face of Miss Dior handbags. Simons had this to say of the label’s latest celebrity acquisition: “Her youth and her classic beauty, but also her force of character and the complexity she’s capable of embodying at such a young age, are, for me both unique and very moving.”
So while it remains to be seen whether or not this new announcement spells the end of Mila Kunis’ contract with the brand — Kunis helmed the most recent campaign for the coveted handbags — we can be fairly certain that we’ll catch Lawrence donning red-carpet Dior designs in the very near future.
