One of our favorite “Girls“, Lena Dunham’s edgy-chic do on the cover of ELLE magazine’s annual Women in TV issue is poised to reaching for the bleach, vibrant color and scissors. Sporting a simple choppy coif, that amazing 90′s color job and a sharp cat-eye, Dunham looks equal parts glamorous and every gal — which is exactly her appeal. Take a peak at some of the editorial snaps inside, featuring goods by haute designers Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabbana, and Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane and you’ll see exactly how the cool kids do. And congrats on the cover, Lena!read more
Today’s post is equal parts inspiration and admiration, offering up Emma Watson’s star turn on April’s cover of Elle magazine. The Harry Potter actress is clearly outgrowing her identification with the famed franchise, looking every inch the modern “it” girl in a spread that varies from casual to downright chic. The cover shows a fresh Watson draped in this spring’s trendiest “do,” double-denim, while inside there’s a decidedly grown-up and 60′s inspired vibe, with a fresh cat-eye/nude lip and nail combo, and a vintage-ish swimsuit/jacket pairing that is to die for.
It was only a matter of time before today’s ‘Must Have‘ happened. In the beauty and fashion realm, pairing up is oh-so-posh, so why not a pedicure and footwear nail lacquer collaboration to coordinate your toes with your new strappy sandals. While not their first haute label/polish partnership (remember the quick Marc Jacobs capsule and the recent Thakoon collab), beloved nail brand NARS is well-matched with famed shoemaker Pierre Hardy on what appears to be — compliments a sneak peek via Elle magazine — a mini collab of trend-worthy colors (a very grown-up orange hue, an eggplant hue, and two soft metallics) with which to adorn your fingers and toes.
The slated appearance of the polishes on store shelves is being kept a secret, but is said to be happening very soon. Strappy sandals and matching to-die-for polish hues? That sounds like a Spring match made in heaven!read more
We’re currently drooling over model Lee Hye Jung’s photo shoot with ELLE Vietnam for their December 2012 issue photographed by Alexander Neumann. The editorial focus for this particular shoot was based on Dark Romance, channeling a little bit of goth and equal parts sophisticated boldness that jumps off the page. The makeup done here is extremely minimalistic, heavy brows and pale pink lips. Peep additional images from the shoot below:
