On a whim I decided to tie a thin black ribbon around my neck the other night to compliment the deep red dress I was wearing and I’m realizing now that I’m not alone. Chokers are back and making a bold appearance on a number of the style set. From Emma Watson to Rihanna, chokers are turning up the form of wispy and open-ended gold bands, leather “belts” with metal clasps, layered in dazzling crystal, and simple black ribbons — all neatly wrapped around the neck. The look makes an equally bold statement to the many layered and length necklaces that are also trending for spring — with a decidedly more minimalistic effect. Here’s some choker-inspiration for you to draw from for the weekend!

Today’s post is equal parts inspiration and admiration, offering up Emma Watson’s star turn on April’s cover of Elle magazine. The Harry Potter actress is clearly outgrowing her identification with the famed franchise, looking every inch the modern “it” girl in a spread that varies from casual to downright chic. The cover shows a fresh Watson draped in this spring’s trendiest “do,” double-denim, while inside there’s a decidedly grown-up and 60′s inspired vibe, with a fresh cat-eye/nude lip and nail combo, and a vintage-ish swimsuit/jacket pairing that is to die for.
Pearls are back, and their a far cry from your Grandmother’s clutching days.

Pearls are trending and are the perfect compliment to the wardrobe transition from winter into spring. Here’s a little eye-candy inspiration on how best to rock these little numbers!read more

Call it muscle-memory of the back-to-school season, there is no season that inspires a shopping spree like fall — and this autumn’s to-die-for trends are certainly not helping the matter. From double-breasted blazers to thigh-high boots, fall 2013 is rife with looks to L-O-V-E, but beyond everyday chic comes a cocktail trend that we can’t wait to try: the off-the shoulder dresses.
Previewed by the typical It-girl indicators — Alexa Chung, Emma Watson, and Sienna Miller — the clavicle-exposing look makes for exposure that is more sophisticated and wearable than an exposed midriff or excessive cleavage. And with heavy hitters like Miuccia Prada, J.Mendel, and Prabal Gurung offering up their takes on the trend, there is plenty to choose from. We offer up proof in the from of off-the-shoulder red-carpet looks decorating the celebrity set of late.
