57th Annual Grammys Red Carpet

Rihanna

Award season took another step forward last night with the annual 57th Grammy Awards — yes, that means we’re about to sprinkle your Monday with our favorite rock-n-roll red carpet looks. From sheer sequins to basic black, sexy cutouts to chic pantsuits, the celebs ran the gamut at the music industries biggest night, mostly laying off the bold, bright colors and sticking to shades of black and white. (One notable exception was Rihanna who sported a massive pink dress.) And while we’re going to hold off on offering up Madonna and her derriére (you can find that aplenty on Dr. Google), we are going to give you a peak at what we think were the winners in the style department. Here we go!

Annie Lennox

Anna Kendrick

Miley Cyrus

Gwen Stefani

Friday Night Painting Party: Fuchsia Lipstick

Painting your pout red is surely the most classic approach to pulling attention to your pucker, but if you prefer playing with a more of-the-moment hue, pull out a tube of fuchsia lipstick, gloss, or stain and go at it.  From runways like Dior, Prabal Gurung, and Oscar de la Renta, and slicked across the lips of celebrities like Jennifer Hudson, Coco Rocha and Olivia Wilde, fuchsia is the latest incarnation of a fully painted lip, and a very modern veer away from a classic red.

If you’re looking for a more detailed look than simply slicking on the pink/purple hue, try dabbing the lips with concealer to erase your natural color, as well as highlighting your cupids bow for extra ethereal oomph.  Then line the lips with a neutral or matching shade, and carefully paint on your favorite fuchsia.  Blotting will help achieve that of-the-moment ink stamped look that everyone is so wild about — and voila!  You’re ready to go.
