Kate Hudson is back as ambassador for Ann Taylor’s spring and summer 2013 campaign. This year, Hudson will get knee deep into her role and become more hands on. She’ll be lending herself to design influence and also be an ambassador for the brand’s charitable initiatives.
We’ll also see a capsule collection for summer. According to a press release she will also join the Advisory Council for the company’s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative, a program that supports the empowerment of young women.
“Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience and there is a really wonderful connection. Putting these outfits together has been incredibly fun – they have such youthful energy and flair!” Hudson said. “I got to dance on a treadmill wearing some amazing dresses and heels while being photographed in front a giant digital screen when we shot this new campaign.”

When Ann Taylor set out to find its first celebrity guest designer, they didn’t exactly search far and wide — more like near and dear. It seems the brand has chosen the face of several of its 2012 advertising campaigns, actress Kate Hudson, to don the designer hat and pony up a collaborative capsule as well as star in another of Taylor’s campaigns.
This is Hudson’s first foray into designing, so we’re not sure what to expect or how big a hand she’ll actually have in the creating portion of events, but WWD is reporting that the actress, ”helped create a lineup of looks inspired by her red-carpet style, reinterpreted for everyday occasions.” Huh? Returning as muse for conservative clothing titan Ann Taylor, actress Kate Hudson’s latest campaign photos have been revealed. This is Hudson’s third consecutive season of ads for the brand (she took over A.T. duties from actress Demi Moore,) donning pieces from fall’s 2012 collection.
“Fall is always my favorite season,” Hudson recently told WWD. “I love layers and Ann Taylor is really going for more color and prints and fashion and stepping out of the box for their company.”
The campaign was shot by Ann Taylor favorite, photographer Tom Munro who found inspiration from a mash-up of “the modern woman” and “the glamour of Paris in the 1960s. “I love the ’60s Parisian influence, animal prints, silhouettes and bold, bright colors,” the star says in a statement. “The pieces are stylish, versatile and comfortable.”
So keep those eyes peeled come mid-August for the items featured in the campaign to his store shelves (and online.)
