Today’s must-have is actually set to make its appearance at New York Fashion Week tomorrow (and sadly, won’t be available in stores until spring 2014) but you’ll need the day to adjust to the over-amped level of pining the launch of J.Crew’s footwear collaboration with Brit footwear designer Sophia Webster is sure to incite.
Presentationg at tomorrow morning’s J.Crew spring 2014 preview, the 12 styles are set to reveal themselves adding the designer’s signature whimsical touch to J.Crew’s new back-to-basics approach to clothing. We can expect what she described to WWD as a “hybrid of the two brands” with colorful tassels, embroidered details, and crystals adorning a capsule of stilettos, pumps, and Webster’s coveted Aztec sandals.
“The collection is really fun and feminine, very me,” Webster said to the fashion tome. “The brand has a real sense of fun and color that I love, and I think that my designs complement their clothes well.”
J.Crew’s Jenna Lyon had a much more cinematic descriptive, likening the shoes to “…miniature sets—a beautiful world for your feet to spend the day in. Each shoe tells a unique story.”
So if we’re judging from the drawings alone, we can tell that J.Crew’s spring 2013 shoe world, is one we’ll enjoy living in just fine.read more

Now Ambrose isn’t just dressing celebrities and high rollers. She’s also giving the every day woman a chance at capturing her signature style. The style icon teamed up with HSN for a shoe line all her own… and it’s pocket-friendly too with items under $120 and payment plans to boot.
The line made it’s formal debut today and features an array of suede fringe, color blocking sandals, outrageous floral details and look at me now pumps.

WHAT IS ONE “MAKEUP SIN” THAT YOU SEE WOMEN MAKE QUITE OFTEN?
We watched him dominate the runways at the tender age of 21 when he won Project Runway and showcased his designs at New York Fashion Week. WWD reported Friday that the fashion designer will be adding an entirely new project into his portfolio of fashion works this time collaborating with the Fragrance Group for his forthcoming scent.
“I’m so excited to have the opportunity to create my first exclusive fragrance, a fragrance which to me symbolizes the type of women I love to dress who is stylish, sophisticated, and powerful,” said Siriano.
The designer has already collaborated with Payless Shoe Source and has a maternity collection called Fierce Mamas.
We look forward to getting our hands on the new scent.
If you weren’t able to make it to the tents or spend time at FNO last week, no worries, we’ve got you covered. Last week, legendary couture designer B. Michael presented his ready-to-wear collection at Macy’s Herald Square with celebrity guests in tote and designs that please. The AMERICA RED collection is priced between $155 and $400 dollars taking inspiration from the dramatic looks that surfaced from his collaboration with costume designer Ruth Carter for Whitney Houston in the recently released film SPARKLE.
The collection of dresses offer a seamless transition from day to night with clean lines, retro-femininity, dramatic sleeves and necklines with a modern day aesthetic. Bold neutrals and solid pieces make their debut in this collection that presents simple sophistication and a timeless color palette suited to appear in your wardrobe season after season.
On the scene to cover the event was blogger Merli of Miss Merli in NYC, who provided the pictures you’ll find below.
Here’s a look at some of the designs from the AMERICA RED collection:
J.Crew’s Spring 2013 collection, as revealed earlier in the week at New York Fashion Week, has proven to be one that will have us pining away all winter for. The dizzying array of happy prints and colors, paired with boy-meets-girl style will leave you wanting to bypass winter’s brooding looks in favor of the Crew’s preppy springtime’s optimism.
The collection’s palette was inspired by a childhood collection of 1960′s-70′s Time-Life nature and wildlife books that head womenswear designer Tom Mora unearthed from his parents’ home. Calling the color scheme “Instagram-like,” Mora pointed out, “Back then, the saturated colors were considered state of the art; now they look like the filters we put on digital photos.”
And what fun little filters they are in all their neon-leather skirted and bright floral pant glory. The collection also includes the staple white tunics and djellabas reminiscent of summer vacations, and a smattering of blue-hued tomboyish looks that J.Crew model Caroline Issa aptly calls “masculine tailoring with a dose of pretty.”read more
Ala Lana del Rey, we imagine—the nails at Kate Spade’s recent New York Fashion Week appearance eschewed the traditional square, neat and rounded shaping in favor of the much more dramatic, long and especially pointy manicure that the fledging pop-star is regularly seen sporting. And did we mention the bright colors and patterns? We didn’t. Well, take a look.
Spade’s manicures went bright, gingham and polka-dotted for spring 2013, in that pointedly sexy retro shaped way that usually only 50′s and 60′s starlets could pull off.
“It’s all about attention to detail now, so nails have become really important.” said creative director Deborah Lloyd when questioned about Spade’s seemingly new pop-cultural urban take. ”And we’re loving these longer nails because the collection can be quite sweet and quite preppy, so we wanted something a bit edgier and grittier. Even though some of the nails are quite pretty, with the ginghams for example, by having them longer and more pointed it just gave a little bit of edge to them, which I think is a nice counterbalance to the sweetness of the clothes,” she told us.
So is this the next adventure in nail art? And if it is, who on earth will open can tabs for us in the future? Let us know what you think!read more
