Cannes Film Festival’s red-carpet is well-known for offering up the best star-gazing this side of awards season, and this year is no different. From A-list to D-list, reality stars to up-n-comers, celebrities are tricking themselves out in their finest frocks to celebrate film, fame and the entertainment industry as a whole. Naturally, we thought a bit of eye-candy was in order, so here we go, and Happy Friday!
Nicole Kidman rarely disappoints on the red carpet and despite less-than-favorable reviews of her long-awaited biopic Grace of Monaco, she’s turned in some seriously style savvy photo ops.
The Women in Film with Calvin Klein even was chock full of fascinating and tres fashionable favorites like Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Watts and Rooney Mara.
Blake Lively made all the style blogs at the Cannes red-carpet premiere of Mr. Turner looking every-inch the movie star she is.
Cate Blanchett’s Chopard Event appearance showed the actress looking her ethereal best in a grey metallic Valentino gown.
And it just wouldn’t be right to not circle back to the Grace of Monaco red carpet to celebrate the stunner, Zoe Saldana whose Victoria Beckham white chain dress was a perfect pick for the sun and sand of the seaside city.
Never content to sweat through those summer days and nights like the rest of us, those industrious fashion folks are hard at it doling out the latest and greatest for fall. Witness from the Nicole Kidman fronted Jimmy Choo campaign and Versace’s campaign featuring a nude (again) Kate Moss — Fall’s haute couture campaigns are heavy on the drama. They’re also heavy on model-of-the-moment Cara Delevigne, who scored heavies like Mulberry, Saint Laurent, Fendi, and DKNY.
Accompanied by owls, beaches, modern art, boats, and taxi cabs, Fall 2013′s campaigns are high on theatricality, and that suits us here at PoshBeauty.com just fine. So here are a few of favorites that you’re surely already starting to see as the August fashion mags are hitting stands now.
The Oscar red carpet is arguably THE BIGGEST celebrity fashion gawping event of the year and the attendees of the 2013 Academy Awards certainly put their best foot forward (except maybe Sally Field whose foot actually featured a pair of sneakers.) Sequins and a nude, white and black palette reigned surpreme with elegant appearances by Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Lining’s Playbook) and Best Supporting Actress winner Anne Hathaway (Les Mis), not to mention a critical standout in the Best Dressed category Charlize Theron — but there were a few standouts donning fresh, bold hues like Jennifer Aniston and Kerry Washington. A host of actresses tricked themselves out in metallic shades like Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Naomi Watts too. Here’s a look at some of our favorites from last nights ceremony, and a rousing congratulations to all the winners!read more
If next month’s mags are any indication, editors are going crazy for celebrity cover models. Could it be that the past few months September Issue/ Fashion Week madness has led to model overload? Nevermind, magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, Vogue are all eschewing the haute couture super-models (at least for now) in favor of a host of red-carpet beauties including Salma Hayek, Sarah Jessica Parker, Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman, Natasha Poly, Jennifer Lawrence and Diane Kruger. But the proof is in the pudding — so here’s the pudding. Soon to be hitting newsstands, here are some of our favorite November 2012 editions celebrity-adorned covers:
First spotted at that other fall fashion watching event (read: New York Fashion Week), the shimmery blue eye shadow that made its way down Spring 2013′s runways is proving itself to be a bonafide trend. This weekend’s 64th Annual Emmy Awards was chock full of celebs parading down the red carpet wearing shimmery eyeshadows in shades of cobalt (January Jones), and turquoise (Nicole Kidman and Leslie Mann).
A much lighter look than the smokey-eye explosion of the past, but much more “finished” looking than going au natural, the shimmery blue shadow gives off a perfect dressed up effect without being overdone. Let us know what you think?read more
