The admiration between Balmain creative director, Olivier Rousteing and pop-star Rihanna has landed the singer a prime spot as the face of the labels 2014 spring campaign. On the heels of her signature collections for River Island, an impressive collection of designer clothing documented on Instagram, and her executive producer credit of the fashion reality show “Styled to Rock,” Rihanna‘s appreciation of fashion is apparent, with this current coup making it official — and in the case of Balmain mutual.
In a recent chat with WWD, Rousteing told the mag, “When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete. Rihanna embodies my vision of Balmain in this new campaign,” Rousteing said. “In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world.”
Shot in New York City, the campaign features the singer adorned in a variety of looks from Balmain’s latest efforts, including a pink-and-white Kimono style coat, and an edgy off the shoulder denim-and-gold chain outfit.read more
