The New Bohemian
There’s only so many ways you can reinvent boho–or so I thought. A new kind of hippie has hit the streets of NYC overthrowing the long seated Mad Men reign with her nonchalant panache and alluring natural beauty. The look is not of the down home tree-hugging variety nor is it the urban glam hippie we’ve been eyeing on stylish celebs like Kate Hudson and Isabella Lucas. It’s a hodgepodge of elements really. Picture a wealthy 1970′s Earth Mother dressing like a 1920′s flapper who aspires to be Guinevere but becomes a Marrakesh princess instead. Confused much?
In short, less Janice Joplin, more Talitha Getty. Less suede vests and denim, more caftans, kimonos, and Balinese wraps. Imagine an exotic, mystical creature with a laissez-faire attitude covered in velvet couture and vintage baubles from the far East. (And by far East, I don’t mean Orchard Street.) Can you dig it?
