Trends: A Prettily Polished Perforation
If your style eye is trained on spring fashion that’s both feminine and flirty, you may want to look further than traditional lace and a classic pink palette. Perforation is having a moment, with a spate of designers like Alexander McQueen, Clover Canyon and Milly offering up the modern gals answer to eyelet in everything from jackets, to dresses, to accessories.
Naturally, there’s a lot of leather. From Chloe’s newly dubbed “it” bag, the Perforated Baylee Bag to Topshop’s raspberry Perforated Foldover Clutch, there are plenty of handbags reflecting this trend, and let’s not forget the shoes—Matt Bernson, Brian Atwood, Aldo and the Blond Salad x Steve Madden are all offering up their take on the perforated sandal and flat. But let’s get to the less expected perforations on tees, skirts and tops, particularly on 3.1 Phillip Lim’s enviable camel crop, Zara’s mint green Guipure Lace Pencil Skirt and Isabel Marant’s chic Denim Grid Vest, there are plenty of perforated separates to prove our point.
