Vera Wang Adds Cosmetics To Her Kohl’s Universe
What Oprah is to the media masses, it seems Vera Wang is to the shopping masses. At least it seems that might be her intention as she reveals yet another collaboration with Kohl’s department stores.
From bridal to shoes, jewelry, ready-to-wear and home goods, Ms. Wang is certainly the multi-tasker, creating designs for everything from everyday to haute couture and now she’s taking it a step further by delving into the world of beauty.
Wang’s first color cosmetics line (an addition to her Simply Vera Vera Wang line) is set to debut in April at the mid-range retailer. Wang partnered with the BeautyBank division of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. to create this 74 piece collection (ranging in price from $16.50 to $39.50 ) that will include everything from concealers to lash serums, with each product combining color and treatment for a time saving beautifying + maintenance combo.
“It completes my Kohl’s universe,” the designer said when she sat down with WWD. “Also, a pop of color is such a gorgeous way to let your natural beauty shine through. It’s the ultimate accessory.” - That’s right folks, Vera Wang has her own universe. Take that Oprah.
Having made her name as the go-to-gal for high dollar wedding dresses, Ms. Wang has been accused of moving “down the ladder” by catering to the masses… we suspect her bank account might say differently. No?
